Summary of Changes from Previous Version

25 March 2021:  Faculty changed to College throughout. Administrative amendment, approved by University Secretary.

17 March 2020:  Director, People and Workforce Strategy (DPWS) amended to Chief People and Culture Officer (CPCO). Approved as an administrative amendment, Director Assurance Services.

This is the first version of this document to be published in the new UON Policy Library. For all intents and purposes, this version is reflective of the version that was approved, published and in effect at the time the new Policy Library was launched. In migrating the document to the new Policy Library it was subjected to reformatting, including the application of a new numbering system. The following information details the history of changes to the document prior to its publication in the new UON Policy Library: 25/5/16 - Vice-Chancellor - This procedure has replaced the following two policies - Appointment by Invitation - Exceptional Circumstances Policy 000927 and Appointment to Professor Exceptional Circumstances Policy 000805. Strategic appointments of targeted individuals with high strategic value can now be approved by the Vice-Chancellor in consultation with the Director, People and Workforce Strategy without the need for a selection committee to be formed.
