Qualification for the Award
(1) To qualify for the Award of the Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), a student will satisfactorily complete a program of study, comprising of a total of 320 units of compulsory and elective courses at the 1000, 2000, 3000 and 4000 levels as approved by the Program and Course Approval Committee.
(2) The Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) program is a four year program, however, only students deemed eligible under Clause 7 will be permitted to enrol in the final year of the program.
(3) Students undertaking the Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) who have satisfied the requirements for the exit award of the Bachelor of Psychological Science may be permitted to exit to and qualify with the Bachelor of Psychological Science.
Grading of the Award
(4) The Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) will be graded with the class of honours determined in accordance with the Course Management and Assessment Manual and based on the student's performance in the final (fourth) year of the program.
(5) A student who successfully completes the final (fourth) year will be awarded graded honours based on their performance in all 4000 level courses. There shall be two three classes of graded honours, namely Class I, and Class II and Class III. Class I shall have one division: First Class Honours. Class II shall have two divisions: Class II Division I, Class II Division II. Class III shall have one division: Class III.
Eligibility for Entry to the Final (Fourth) Year
(6) Admission to the final year of the program is determined solely by academic merit and is competitive.
(7) To be eligible for entry into the final year of the Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), students must achieve the following minimum requirements:
- Have successfully completed the 240 units of compulsory and elective courses at the 1000, 2000, and 3000 level as approved by the Program and Course Approval Committee; and
- Have attained a minimum GPA of 5.0 over all 2000 and 3000 level PSYC coded courses and STAT2000. The GPA will be calculated as per the Grade Point Average (GPA) Calculation Guideline.
(8) In the event that the number of applications for admission to the final year of the Bachelor of Psychology exceeds the number of available places, the College Pro Vice-Chancellor, on the recommendation of the Head, School of Psychology, will determine which students will be permitted to enrol.
(9) Students who achieve a calculated GPA of less than 5.0 do not meet the minimum requirement for admission to the final year of the Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and will not proceed to the final (fourth) year. Students unable to proceed to the final (fourth) year in such instances will be eligible to exit and graduate with a Bachelor of Psychological Science, provided they have qualified for admission to this award (refer to Clauses 10 to 12), unless the Pro Vice-Chancellor, on the recommendation of the Head, School of Psychology, determines otherwise. The GPA will be calculated as per the Grade Point Average (GPA) Calculation Guideline.

Qualification for the Award
(10) The Bachelor of Psychological is an exit award for students enrolled in the Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) who do not proceed to the final year of the Bachelor of Psychology (Honours).
(11) To qualify for the exit award of the Bachelor of Psychological Science, a student will satisfactorily complete a program of study while enrolled in the Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) degree program, comprising of 240 units of compulsory and elective courses at the 1000, 2000 and 3000 levels as approved by the Program and Course Approval Committee.
(12) Students awarded the Bachelor of Psychological Science will not be permitted to then re-enrol in the Bachelor of Psychology (Honours).

(13) Students may appeal any determination made under Clauses 6 to 9 to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) and Vice President within 10 working days of being advised of the outcome of their application.
