Summary of Changes from Previous Version

This is the first version of this document to be published in the new UON Policy Library. For all intents and purposes, this version is reflective of the version that was approved, published and in effect at the time the new Policy Library was launched. In migrating the document to the new Policy Library it was subjected to reformatting, including the application of a new numbering system.


The following information details the history of changes to the document prior to its publication in the new UON Policy Library:


27 March 2018:  This Rule was rescinded by Council as the relevant content is contained in Admission and Enrolment Procedure Manual – Coursework; Course Management and Assessment Procedure Manual; and Program Management and Procedure Manual – Coursework.


1 December 2017 – Administrative amendment approved by University to implement the revised student appeals process approved by UB1 on 28 November 2017


22 September 2017 – Amendments to Clause 5, 6, 7 and 8 to note the content is now contained in the Governance Rule – approved by the Council [resolution C17:120]


31 August 2017 - Administrative changes approved by the University Secretary in relation to the following: 1. clause 8.3 - to implement Council resolutions C15:028 (effective 30 March 2015) and C15:098 (effective 14 August 2015) in relation to the authority of the Nominations and Legislation Committee; 2. clause 8.2 - to implement Council resolution C16:169 (effective 11 November 2016) in relation to the introduction of associate degrees; and 3. clause 12 – to implement Council resolution C16:193 (effective 8 December 2016) in relation to changes to the delegations for approval of credit.


8 October 2014 – minor edit made to wording of ESOS definition


23 May 2014 - Administrative change to section 8.3: Council resolved (C14:133) that the Nominations and Legislation Committee have the delegation to approve conferrals of the title of Emeritus Professor and conferrals of honorary degrees and exceptional service medals.
