Summary of Changes from Previous Version

13 December 2021: 


- Amendment to Clause 99b to replace Director, Student Experience and Administration and Academic Registrar with Pro Vice-Chancellor Student Experience and Academic Registrar. Approved by Council, 10 December 2021.


- Amendment to Clause 13 c to reflect non-HREC mechanisms that may approve human ethics applications.  Approved by Council, 10 December 2021 (C21:130).


29 March 2021:  Amendments to Part E, and Clause 95 (Table) to replace Assistant Dean (Research Training) with College Pro Vice-Chancellor. Approved by Council, 25 March 2021.


4 August 2020: UON changed to University throughout. Administrative amendment.


July 2020:  Academic Registrar position title updated. Administrative amendment.


4 March 2020:  Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) amended to Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) and Vice President.  Approved as an administrative amendment, University Secretary.


27 February 2020: Clause 88g and 92e amended to remove “Dean of Students” and refer to Student Advocates.  Approved by M Dowzer, University Secretary as administrative change.


22 January 2020: Title of “Manager, Residential Life” amended to “Student Living Support Manager”. Approved by M Dowzer, University Secretary as administrative change.


4 February 2019:  Minor Administrative Amendment, Senior Deputy Vice Chancellor Research and Innovation amended to Deputy Vice Chancellor Research and Innovation, following positional changes within the University. 


This is the first version of this document to be published in the new UON Policy Library. For all intents and purposes, this version is reflective of the version that was approved, published and in effect at the time the new Policy Library was launched. In migrating the document to the new Policy Library it was subjected to reformatting, including the application of a new numbering system.

14/12/2012 - Governance and Policy - Change to appeals period from 10 to 20 days (Clauses 21.3, 21.4, 21.5 and 21.6) approved by Council (Resolution C12:219) 7 December 2012; and change from DVC (Academic & Global Relations) to DVC (Academic).

23/02/2012 - Vice- Chancellor - Change to appeals period from 25 to 10 days (Clauses 21.3, 21.4, 21.5 and 21.6) and inclusion of information regarding appointment of SACOs (Section 3, Relevant Definitions), approved by Vice-Chancellor 16 February 2012; effected by the Governance and Policy Unit.


22/11/2011 - Governance and Policy - Minor Amendment Clause 26.1 now two sentences to improve clarity.


25/07/2011 - University Council - Renamed Student Misconduct Rule, approved by Council - 27 May 2011 (C11:097), for commencement on 25 July 2011. It replaces and rescinds: Student Discipline Rules


21/08/1992 - University Council - Student Discipline Rule first approved by Council.
