Summary of Changes from Previous Version

This is the first version of this document to be published in the new UON Policy Library. For all intents and purposes, this version is reflective of the version that was approved, published and in effect at the time the new Policy Library was launched. In migrating the document to the new Policy Library it was subjected to reformatting, including the application of a new numbering system.

The following information details the history of changes to the document prior to its publication in the new UON Policy Library:

4 May 2016 - DVC(A) - Due date for announcement of training workshops and promotions committees changed to February each year. DVC has authority to request referee reports. Clarification added regarding applicants’ requesting referees. Addition of, ‘UPC may now meet as many times as the Chair deems necessary’. Heads of Schools may now nominate delegates under certain circumstances. Minor administrative corrections.

15 Oct 2015 - DVC(A) - Inclusion of Exceptional Circumstances process. Additional information added to the Appeals clause 13. Roles and Responsibilities for Director, People and Workforce Strategy clarified regarding nominating a secretary to UPC. Gender equity considerations added to Faculty Promotions and University Promotions Committee compositions. Replacement member option added to University Promotions Committee. Amendments made to include reference to University policy and procedures. Administrative amendments made.

11 Jul 2014 - DVC(A) - Full review conducted by the Office of the DVC(A)

12 Jun 2013 - Minor amendment - Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) replaced Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & Global Relations) as Policy Owner to reflect structural changes, The Secretariat

22 May 2010 - Reviewed: Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & Global Relations) - Amendment Clause 3.1 ii to define importance; Removal of Clause 3.1 iii and amendment to Clause 3.1. iv to remove identification of percentage contributions; Addition of Clause 3.1. v; Amendment of "the area" to "one area" Clause 3.1vi b; Addition of scholarship in relation to teaching and learning to Clause 4.2 i c; Amendment Cl 4.4 and 4.5 to include research/scholarship in relation to teaching and learning; Addition of new clause 4.5 iii; updated DVC(A) to DVC(A&GR) throughout.
