This version of the document was current at the time the new UON Policy Library launched. For all intents and purposes, this version is reflective of the version that was approved, published and in effect at the time the new Policy Library was launched. In migrating the document to the new Policy Library it was subjected to reformatting, including the application of a new numbering system and removal of references to Rules rescinded via Council Resolution on 7 March 2018.


The following information details the history of changes to the document prior to its publication in the new UON Policy Library:


18 July 2017 – President of Academic Senate approved an urgent amendment to clause 5.2.2 i to read: 4 for 4000 level and above courses, to ensure that 5000 and 6000 level courses approved for inclusion in an undergraduate program structure can contribute to the WAM.


23 November /2015 – Minor admin amendment to remove the reference to Weighted Average Mark (WAM) Calculation Guideline (FENBE) under section 9: Related Documents, and replace it with Weighted Average Mark (WAM) Calculation Guideline - D15/29591.


26 November 2014 - Academic Senate approved the revised Bachelor Honours Policy for implementation from 1 January 2015. The revised edition of the Bachelor Honours Policy will apply to students completing the requirements for an AQF level 8 Bachelor Honours program (for example Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and the Bachelor of Teaching (Humanities) (Honours) and the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Civil)) from the 2015 academic year unless otherwise specified. Note: Students completing a pre-2015 program may be awarded Honours in accordance with the Honours requirements as set out in the relevant program documentation or schedule (such as Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical)).


Rescission of clauses 5.3, 5.3.1 and 5.3.2 effective from 1 January 2013, superseded by sub-clauses 16.5.1 and 16.5.2 in Course Management and Assessment Procedure Manual 000996, approved Academic Senate (Doc AS13:033) 22 May 2013.


This new policy replaces Embedded Honours Models Structures Policy [000743] and Structure for Model 1 Honours Programs Policy [000643], effective from 1 January 2013.


Section 4.0 amended to include corrected definition for Research Component, 19 October 2012.


3 October 2012 approved under delegation (AUB1 by President of Academic Senate and reported to Senate on 7 November 2012) noting that this policy will be in the Library for a transition period until the provisions are incorporated into the Program Management Suite and relevant Schedules by the end of 2013.
