Summary of Changes from Previous Version

This is the first version of this document to be published in the new UON Policy Library. For all intents and purposes, this version is reflective of the version that was approved, published and in effect at the time the new Policy Library was launched. In migrating the document to the new Policy Library it was subjected to reformatting, including the application of a new numbering system. The following information details the history of changes to the document prior to its publication in the new UON Policy Library: 8 November 2017 - Policy team - Minor administrative amendments to update position titles and terminology. Removal of definitions section for migration to Tweek! policy system. 28 July 2017 - Academic Senate and Council - Status of document corrected from Rule to Policy. Amended to reflect changes to the process for the award of Higher Doctorates, as well as positional and terminology updates (e.g. Dean of Graduate Research). 3 July 2015 - Policy team - Amended title of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) to Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Innovation) to reflect structural changes. 13 May 2011 - President Academic Senate - Minor amendment approved by President of Academic Senate under delegated authority - Clauses 10.3 and 15.4 - electronic copies of theses are now to be held in the University's institutional digital repository. 28 July 2010 - Policy team - Minor amendment - updated FOI to GIPA Act, Clause 11.2. 28 June 2010 - President Academic Senate - Amendment to Clauses 5.1, 5.3 and 6.1 approved by the President of Academic Senate under delegated authority.
