Step 1 of 4: Comment on Document

How to make a comment?

1. Use this Protected Document to open a comment box for your chosen Section, Part, Heading or clause.

2. Type your feedback into the comments box and then click "save comment" button located in the lower-right of the comment box.

3. Do not open more than one comment box at the same time.

4. When you have finished making comments proceed to the next stage by clicking on the "Continue to Step 2" button at the very bottom of this page.

 

Important Information

During the comment process you are connected to a database. Like internet banking, the session that connects you to the database may time-out due to inactivity. If you do not have JavaScript running you will recieve a message to advise you of the length of time before the time-out. If you have JavaScript enabled, the time-out is lengthy and should not cause difficulty, however you should note the following tips to avoid losing your comments or corrupting your entries:

  1. DO NOT jump between web pages/applications while logging comments.

  2. DO NOT log comments for more than one document at a time. Complete and submit all comments for one document before commenting on another.

  3. DO NOT leave your submission half way through. If you need to take a break, submit your current set of comments. The system will email you a copy of your comments so you can identify where you were up to and add to them later.

  4. DO NOT exit from the interface until you have completed all three stages of the submission process.

 

Bachelor of Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety Schedule

Section 1 - Admission

(1) An applicant for admission to the Bachelor of Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety program shall satisfy the following admission criteria:

  1. hold an approved 3 year Diploma in Science, Health Science or Engineering from a recognised Singapore Polytechnic or equivalent; or
  2. hold an 18 month PSB-IPT Diploma in Engineering from the PSB Academy – Productivity and Standards Board in Singapore, or equivalent with at least three years of relevant work experience; and
  3. satisfy the University of Newcastle’s English language requirements.

(2) Note that, in order to be considered for admission, all previous qualifications must have been completed within eight years prior to lodging an admission application. Applicants with qualifications that are over eight-years-old or with other relevant diploma qualifications may also apply, but will be required to submit a detailed resume outlining work experience and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis by The University.

Section 2 - Credit

(3) On the basis of 1(a) or 1(b) above, students will be granted credit of 80 units.

Section 3 - Qualification for Admission to the Degree

(4) To qualify for admission to the degree, a student shall pass the program of study approved by the Academic Senate totalling 160 units, in addition to the 80 units of credit granted under clause 3 above, making a total of 240 units.

Section 4 - Grading of the Degree

(5) The degree will be awarded as an ordinary degree; or

(6) For students who entered the program from 2011, the degree will be awarded 'with Distinction' to those students who gain a minimum GPA of 6.0 based on all studies undertaken in the program; or

(7) For students who entered the program before 2011, the degree may be awarded 'with Distinction' where a students performance has reached a standard determined by the Pro Vice-Chancellor on the recommendation of the Head of School.

Section 5 - Time Requirements

(8) Except with the permission of the Pro Vice-Chancellor, a student shall complete requirements for the course within eight years of study.
